MALIK SHAHAN, FORMER MPA OF THE PPP, WAS KILLED IN AN ARMED ATTACK IN ATTOCK.

 ATTOCK: A former member of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) provincial assembly (MPA) was slain in an armed attack in Attock, according to ARY News.

Malik Shahan Hakmeen Khan, a former PPP legislator in the Punjab Assembly, was attacked by unidentified assailants while attending funeral prayers in Sheen Bagh, Attock, according to rescue sources.
In serious condition, the politician was rushed to Rawalpindi's District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), where he succumbed to his injuries.
In the 2008 general elections, Malik Shahan Hakmeen Khan was elected as an MPA, while his father Malik Hakmeen Khan was also elected.
Former MPA Malik Shahan Hakmeen Khan was assassinated, according to PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. He stated that the party leadership is outraged by Malik Shahan's martyrdom and that assassins will not be pardoned at any cost.
He asked that the killers of Malik Shahan be apprehended right away.
Malik Amin Aslam, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Malik Amin, condemned the armed attack on Malik Shahan and announced a high-level investigation has been begun to apprehend the perpetrators.
